This update provides the plug-ins necessary to communicate with a Autodesk Vault 5 server installation. This should only be installed if Vault 5 is deployed and you wish to add support within Autodesk 3ds Max 8.
Autodesk strongly recommends using the Autodesk Vault Manager backup utility to backup all databases and necessary files prior to installing this service pack.
